Changes in the operation of Teiresias Centre

(Last update: May 25, 2020)

We would like to inform you about changes in the operation of Teiresias Centre. These changes, which follow the Rector’s emergency measure to coronavirus, are valid from 25 May 2020. Note that the situation may continue to change, we will notify you in such a case.

Operation of individual sections of the Teiresias Centre

  • The operation of the Studies Section is still limited – some study counsellors work from home, but now you can have a face-to-face consultation at the Teiresias Centre. However, you must agree on such a consultation in advance (you can use email, phone, Skype, Hangouts or another way). This is valid also for consultations with psychologists and psychotherapists.
  • The Teiresias Library, which provides digitalization of study materials for students who use assistive technology, is fully operational. Usual preparation and distribution of study materials is in the process. If you need other materials apart from those you have already agreed on please contact us as usually (via e-mail).
  • The operation of the Visual Communication Section is limited in a similar way to the Studies Section. However, a sign language interpreter and a speech-to-text transcriptionist are always present, so you can contact our section on-line. If you prefer face-to-face communication, make an appointment..
  • The Administration Section is fully operational, you do not have to make an appointment (although you are recommended to do so).
  • The Special ICT Section and Physical Accessibility Section are operational, but an appointment for a face-to-face meeting is needed.

Individual teaching in Teiresias Centre

Individual contact teaching organized by the Teiresias Centre is reinstated if the teacher agrees with the student that it cannot be replaced by a distance learning form. At the same time on-line and distance forms of learning can still be used.

First of all, the methods of assessment of courses and studies can change, so now it is more important than ever to follow all news that you receive from teachers, from your department and from your faculty.

Let us remind you that you can still use modifications that you are entitled to have thanks to your specific needs (or individual study plan) in online classes or exams (both oral and written form). If you want to apply the modifications please let us know as soon as possible so that we have enough time to prepare them. Especially if you need adaptation of study materials it could happen that you would have to wait for a longer time.
